Dunedin

Dunedin, Florida is considered a “German Town” though you wouldn’t think Germany when you visit here. The town has become a destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a vibrant nightlife and is the hometown of our current Governor Ron DeSantis. Known for being the home of Honeymoon Island, with beaches for dogs and sunbathers alike. Dunedin has become famous for many things, one being the home of Strachan’s Ice Cream which always draws a crowd.

Edgewater Park frequently hosts outdoor events and Dunedin is the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays. This “little city” in Florida is positioned directly on the Gulf of Mexico, has some of the best sunsets on the Westcoast of Florida and is considered the most walkable town in Florida.

There is a Crab seafood event every year that brings in thousands of people and you can always find live music in several local pubs and restaurants. The Fenway Hotel was restored in recent years and boasts a rooftop bar with incredible sunset views along with Bon Apetit and Old Bay Cafe on the water. Marker 8 is a well known local stop with a hotel and a small bar with food that sits right on the Gulf of Mexico for quiet sunsets (pictured below).

The month of December brings quite a unique event around Christmas time the “Golf Cart Christmas Parade” which never disappoints with many local residents going all out to decorate their golf carts and dress up. For holidays and special events the City of Dunedin closes Main Street for live entertainment and a street fair.

Dunedin is a city on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It’s known for the beaches, pine forest and ospreys of Honeymoon Island State Park. The island is linked to the mainland by Dunedin Causeway, which offers views over St. Joseph Sound. Downtown, Hammock Park is home to owls, woodpeckers and a butterfly garden. The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail runs through the city. West, kayaks dot the mangroves of Caladesi Island State Park. ― Google
